Vancity Multi-Week Classical
Play a full slow chess tournament over two Sundays. Join us for our first ever classical tournament on December 4 and 11!
200 player limit
As a separate event, you can also get a game of yours analyzed by a chess master, or try to beat one of them yourself. Vancity Chess and Juniors to Masters Chess Academy are teaming up to hold a Christmas Fundraiser. All donations will go to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau, whose mission is to empower families in need to create great Christmas experiences for their kids.
National Master Neil Doknjas, FIDE Master Joshua Doknjas, and FIDE Master John Doknjas will be available to analyze your chess game or to play "Try to Beat a Chess Master" (3+2 Blitz game).

The CFC (Canadian Chess Federation) represents Canada to the world as a member of FIDE, the international chess body. As a CFC member, you have access to all CFC rated events across Canada, and will obtain national CFC chess ratings.
There are two types of CFC ratings: Regular, and Quick. Long story short, all tournaments with long games (60+ min per player) use your CFC regular rating. Tournaments with shorter games (< 60 min per player) use your CFC quick rating. They are different ratings and do NOT overlap.
